BankRI Awards $93,000 in Grants to Rhode Island Nonprofits

In support of local nonprofits and the services they provide Rhode Islanders and the state’s communities, Bank Rhode Island (BankRI) has awarded $93,000 in grants to organizations. The grants have been received by a total of twenty-eight nonprofits, with a particular focus on supporting programs in the areas of education, human services, and the arts.

No-Cost Virtual Class for New Homebuyers Offered April 4

With April being National Financial Literacy Month, all Rhode Islanders are invited to attend a no-cost, virtual workshop on the planning and process of purchasing a home. Titled, “Let’s Talk Money: Buying a House,” the session will be held live on Zoom on Tuesday, April 4 beginning at 5:30 p.m. Those who wish to attend are asked to register in advance online at: https://qrco.de/Moneytalk.

Statewide Children’s Book Drive Begins March 1st

On March 1, Bank Rhode Island (BankRI) kicks off its 2023 Children’s Book Drive at all 20 of its branch locations. This is one of the largest annual collections held in support of Books Are Wings, which also coincides with National Reading Month.

BankRI Finances Construction of Residential Building in Providence

Walter Bronhard Real Estate secured $2.6 million in financing from the Commercial Real Estate division of Bank Rhode Island (BankRI) for the development of a multi-unit residential property on Planet Street in Providence. Construction is underway and the resulting apartments will be utilized as housing for students.

Thousands of Gifts for Kids Pour into BankRI Giving Tree

Rhode Islanders in every corner of the state embraced this year’s Bank Rhode Island (BankRI) Holiday Giving Tree program, leading to an incredible 5,556 gifts donated to brighten the season for underprivileged children served by local nonprofits. It is the most presents ever collected by the program, which recognized its 25th year in 2022.
