Recognizing their contributions to the company and deep commitment to the customers and communities it serves, Bank Rhode Island (BankRI) has promoted five veteran staff members to executive vice president positions. “The promotion to executive vice president is a career milestone and reflects each’s dedication to their profession and their contribution to the success of Bank Rhode Island,” said Will Tsonos, President and CEO of BankRI. “They are leaders at the Bank, and I congratulate them all on this important achievement.”

BANK RHODE ISLAND has awarded $109,600 in grants to 36 organizations throughout Rhode Island focused on at-risk youths, addressing housing instability, improving access to health services and supporting education, including adult workforce training.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – A long-running holiday program to benefit kids across the Ocean State has kicked off, and Bank Rhode Island (BankRI) is hoping it’ll lead to the biggest year yet. The Bank recently began its 26th annual Holiday Giving Tree program – an effort that collects gifts for underprivileged children served by local nonprofits. All twenty-one of BankRI’s branch locations are participating in the program, which runs through mid-December.

Andrew Deluski is senior vice president for commercial real estate at Bank Rhode Island, which provides financing for the construction, refinancing, or purchasing of investment real estate projects. Recently, BankRI provided $6.5 million in financing to Washington Street Holdco LLC for the construction of an apartment complex at 473 Washington St. in Providence.

Supporting a diverse array of nonprofits and their work, Bank Rhode Island (BankRI) has awarded a total of $109,600 in grants to thirty-six local organizations. Together, the services of the funded nonprofits impact residents throughout the state. Among the programs to receive a grant are those which focus on at-risk youth, address housing instability, improve access to health services, and support education, including adult workforce training.

Paul Gagne, who leads the Bank Rhode Island (BankRI) branch in Woonsocket, has been appointed president of the Board of Directors for Valley Affordable Housing Corporation. He assumed the role as of October 1, 2023, and previously served on the nonprofit’s Board as a director.

The Commercial Real Estate division of Bank Rhode Island (BankRI) has provided $6.5 million to Washington Street Holdco, LLC for the construction of a four-story apartment complex in Providence. The complex is being built at 473 Washington Street. The project broke ground in late spring and is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

Fourteen community-based food pantries around the state have received donated food and funds to support their work to help those facing hunger thanks to Bank Rhode Island (BankRI). The Bank recently concluded a six-week food drive at all 21 of its branches, leading to more than 4,000 pounds for the pantries.

Bank Rhode Island on July 19 celebrated the opening of a new full-service branch in Cranston, located at 1340 Oaklawn Avenue. The location will serve a densely populated Cranston community as well as a robust business area. It is the bank’s twenty-first branch in the state.

With the issue of hunger in Rhode Island on the rise in recent months as a result of the end of pandemic-related emergency benefits and increased costs, Bank Rhode Island (BankRI) today began a month-long food drive at all 21 of its branches. The collection will continue through Friday, August 18.

Junior Achievement of Rhode Island (JA) is celebrating the results of its signature fundraiser as its community came together to raise $102,260 in support of education programs for local youth.

BankRI Turks Head Gallery: “Sumo Bunni: Paintings by Shari Weschler,” July 6 through September 6, 2023. The branch is located at One Turks Head Place in downtown Providence. Hours are Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday 9 a.m. to 5p.m. The branch is closed on weekends. There will be Gallery Night Providence receptions on two evenings, July 20 and August 17 from 4 to 6:30 pm.
