Individuals and families across Rhode Island looking to become first-time homebuyers are invited to attend a no-cost, virtual workshop that will help introduce them to the planning and process of buying a home. Titled “Preparing for Homeownership,” the session will be held via Zoom on Tuesday, March 29 beginning at 5:30 p.m. It is being made available by Bank Rhode Island (BankRI) and Pawtucket Central Falls Development.

In recognition of March as National Reading Month and its commitment to childhood literacy, Bank Rhode Island (BankRI) is kicking off its annual children’s book drive. The month-long effort to benefit Books Are Wings runs throughout March at all 20 of the Bank’s branch locations, with both drop-off and virtual donation options offered.

JIC Properties, LLC, a locally-based real estate investment company with an expanding portfolio, has secured $3.2 million in financing from Bank Rhode Island’s (BankRI) Commercial Real Estate division. The loan will be used to refinance and reinvest in two Providence residential properties; 226-230 Dean Street, and 75 Governor Street.

Bank Rhode Island’s (BankRI) Commercial Real Estate division has closed a deal with Touchdown Realty Group, LLC, providing $2.4 million to refinance a ten unit apartment building located at 319 Main Street in East Greenwich. The historic property is fully-occupied and underwent a complete rehabilitation that was completed in the spring of 2021.

More than 1,000 children across the state are enjoying a brighter holiday season thanks to the overwhelming generosity of Bank Rhode Island (BankRI) customers, staff, and the community. In its 24th year, the Bank’s annual Holiday Giving Tree program saw its largest collection ever, leading to 3,708 gifts for kids served by local nonprofits.
