Mark J. Meiklejohn
Mark J. Meiklejohn is President and CEO of BankRI, and is a member of the Board of Directors.
Mark joined BankRI in January 2006 as the Director of Commercial Banking. In 2008, he became the Chief Lending Officer of the Bank responsible for all lending activities as well as Cash Management, Business Development and Macrolease, BankRI’s leasing subsidiary.
Prior to joining BankRI, Meiklejohn was a Senior Vice President in middle market lending with Citizens Bank. He began his career at Fleet Bank in 1985.
A lifelong Rhode Island resident, Mark is active in various industry groups including as the immediate past President of the RI Banker’s Association. In addition, Meiklejohn is extensively involved in the community, serving on the Boards of the United Way, Providence Chamber of Commerce, the RI Public Expenditure Council and as a Trustee for both the Providence Foundation and YMCA of Greater Providence.
Mark earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut. He and his family live in Exeter, RI.
Steven M. Parente
Steven M Parente is a Bank Rhode Island Senior Vice President and Director of Retail Banking.
Steven joined BankRI in January 2009 as the Director of Retail Banking responsible for Retail Branch locations, BARI Investment Services and the Customer Service Support Center. In addition to Retail Banking, Steven is also responsible for Marketing and Mortgage Sales.
Prior to joining BankRI, Parente was a Senior Vice President of Retail Banking with Citizens Bank for 7 years.
A lifelong Rhode Island resident, Steven is actively involved in many youth organizations. He currently serves on the board of Adoption Rhode Island and also serves as Chairman of the Chariho Regional School District Audit Sub-Committee.
Steven earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Rhode Island College in 1993. He and his family live in Richmond, RI.
