Is Online Banking needed for this service?


What are eStatements?

eStatements is a free service provided by Bank Rhode Island to allow you to view your monthly statements electronically through your on-line banking. eStatements replace your paper statements.  They include all the same information as the paper statements, including your check images.

  1. Environmentally Friendly – eStatements help to conserve our natural resources by no longer using paper statements.
  2. Security – eStatements are protected by the highest level of commercial encryption available and eStatements will not be lost or stolen in the mail. 
  3. Accessibility – View your statements and check images online 24 hours a day. 
  4. Fast – eStatement notices are delivered directly to the email address you to provide as soon as your statement is ready for viewing.

How & when do I begin receiving eStatements?

In order to receive eStatements you need to be enrolled and active in our Online Banking service.  Through your Online Banking account, you will select the “eStatements’ tab, provide the requested information and accept the agreement.  You will receive a confirmation email from us notifying you that your enrollment has been completed.  Then, once a month, you’ll receive a courtesy email letting you know that your eStatement is ready and available for viewing.  To access your statement, go to our website (, log onto Online Banking, click on the eStatement tab and choose the appropriate account.  It’s that quick and easy!

What accounts are eligible for eStatements?

Only accounts for which paper statements are issued will be eligible for eStatements.  It can take up to one statement cycle, 31 days, for an account to be enrolled.  If you wish to change back to paper statements contact us via secure email or call us at 866-422-6574 to make a change.

How do I view my eStatements?

When you click on your account number, all available statements will be listed.

If you need a PDF viewer, you will see a window asking whether you would like to download a file or save it to disk. Cancel the window and install Adobe Acrobat Reader to view your statement. To install a free PDF viewer, go to the Adobe website and follow the instructions to download and install Adobe Acrobat Reader.

How do I change my email address, and email delivery options?

It is very important that we have a current email address for you so that we can continue to notify you when your statements are ready and keep you updated about important product information.

To change your email information, log into Online Banking, click on the "eStatements" tab and choose "Email Settings."

Is my statement information secure with eStatements?

We take every possible means to ensure that our products and services meet the highest level of security commercially available. To provide the highest level of security, your eStatements are encrypted with the password you chose when you enrolled in Online Banking. As always, we strongly suggest that you protect that password and do not share it.

How long will my eStatements be available?

Your eStatements are available for eighteen rolling months from the date you sign up.
